Our Summer 2026 Gold Dot Seasonal Cups are complete.

Each cup is made from Red Velvet clay marbled with warm buff clay, creating sediment-like layers reminiscent of weathered desert strata. For the rim and interior, I blend the clay with a black stain, creating a darker clay body beneath the glaze.

Every cup is trimmed by hand, fired to 1,400°F, sanded, fired again to 1,840°F, glazed, and glaze fired to 2,200°F. The interior is finished with an Oribe glaze that transforms into a deep jade green over the dark clay. It's such a beautiful color that I haven't been able to capture it accurately in a photograph.

With this season's design, Mitra and I were inspired by the raw beauty of the desert. The unglazed exterior is balanced by a cool, glassy interior that offers a visual respite from the heat.

This cup is equally at home with your morning coffee, but it may truly shine filled with a late afternoon affogato on a sun-soaked summer afternoon.

Our Beans...Thoughtfully Sourced. Carefully Selected. Exceptionally Roasted.

At Gold Dot Roasting, we source coffees through partners who value strong relationships with the farmers and communities that produce them. We look for coffees with character, whether a beautifully balanced blend or a standout single origin that reflects the place where it was grown.

Every coffee we offer is fully traceable and professionally evaluated using the 100 point cupping scale. We select only coffees scoring 85 points or higher, then roast each one to highlight its unique qualities. The result is coffee chosen with care and roasted to bring out the very best in every bean.

Gold Dot unites exceptionally well-crafted ceramics and coffee, shaped by decades of dedication to ceramics and craft. In a world increasingly driven toward shortcuts in materials and value, Gold Dot moves in the opposite direction—committed to uncompromised craftsmanship in both.

Each ceramic piece is designed and made in California by Rocky Lewycky, a ceramic artist and educator with over three decades of professional experience. The work reflects long practice in clay and an understanding of form developed through sustained making and teaching. These are functional objects produced in limited quantities, intended for daily use and long-term durability rather than mass production.

Our coffee is roasted in small batches using the same approach. We work with trusted sourcing partners and select coffees for balance, clarity, and consistency. From carefully developed blends to distinctive single-origin offerings, each coffee is chosen for how it performs in the cup and how it reflects its origin.

Gold Dot exists at the intersection of craft disciplines. Ceramics and coffee share a reliance on material, timing, and process, and both reward patience and care when approached with intention.

We offer coffee subscriptions, ceramic cups, and limited releases designed for everyday use. Across everything we produce, Gold Dot Roasting maintains a focus on material integrity, longevity, and craft.
